Server Sales and Deployment

All businesses that require to share data among staff, need to centralize files and protect vital information, require a file server of some type.

A file server is usually a dedicated Desktop PC or a Server Chassis with extra components especially manufactured to be very durable and handle multiple tasks whilst receiving and sending data continuously.

On a server you most likely install all the necessary software which will be shared amongst users, antivirus software, terminal server, vpn, etc, as well as the operating system based on Windows Server or Linux.

Each server needs to be adequate for the business requirements intended, not only based on power but also scalability, so it is prepared to be upgraded for the future while the business is growing.

Server Environment

Depending on the server chassis type, it may be required to prepare a specific ventilated or air-conditioned room to insure the server hardware is running at optimal performance and does not overheat. Overheating will cause the server to become sluggish and the entire network will decrease in performance.

Rack Servers are installed horizontally and are preferibly installed in a 9 inch. Rack. Racks come in many different configurations and sizes depending on the amount of equipment used or rack mounted.

Desktop Servers can be easily placed on a desk or on the floor as they can run in standard room temperature, allthough they can be noisy and may be disturbing to staff or workers.

Power Safety & Backup

All servers must be interconnected to power by the way of a UPS device, not only will this device insure a steadyflow of current to the server's power supply unit, but they are usually equipped with a battery pack which will insure that in the case of a power failure the server is kept on for specific amount of time, if the power has not returned the UPS will activate a shutdown procedure by which the servers operating system will initiate a proper shutdown and stop all network activity and protect all data until power is restored, in which case the server can be restarted.
We insure all server installations include at least one backup system in place, either to copy on tape, a usb hard disk, a network drive, etc.
